St. Louis for our next vacay …?
Exotic vacations are so 2008. In these tough economic times, you either stake it out at your own house and grill some chicken and hot dogs on the patio … or you visit the parents and hunker down and utilize their goodwill.
There is obviously more than one reason to head down to my childhood city for our next vacay. Let me run down the most obvious:
- My parents live there (I said that already)
- There are, surprisingly, a lot of stuff to do in St. Louis for free: Zoo, Science Center, Botanical Gardens, Art Museum
- As I linked to in the previous post, the MLB All-Star game is taking place. Caroline has become really appreciative of my obsession for my beloved Cards, and I don’t think I can miss Albert Pujols starring in the HR derby
- Reunion with old high school friends
- No traffic
